As a 18-year veteran of the mortgage industry, Darren Nolander knows how to successfully navigate through all stages of the real estate cycle. His vast experience has led him to his current position as business development manager for the Western division of Finance of America. After years of honing his skills and fostering relationships with borrowers, real estate agents and other key players involved in the homebuying process, Darren now finds himself on the other side of the coin: he fosters relationships among mortgage bankers as he helps them hone their skills.

Over his storied career, Darren has overseen the national retail branching operations for Impac Mortgage Corp.; developed brand guidelines and implemented strategic brand management for Summit Mortgage Corp.; prospected, developed and built wholesale mortgage accounts for Hyperion Capital Group; and managed wholesale and correspondent accounts for New Century Financial where he was a member of the President’s Club from 2002 to 2007.

Darren was racking up accolades even early than that, however. He was also named Rookie of the Year in 2000 from Long Beach Mortgage, proving he had a knack for the mortgage industry from a very early age.

When he’s not developing new talent or providing support to colleagues, Darren loves to spend his time outdoors. A native of Portland, Ore., who now calls San Diego home, Darren can often be found surfing, golfing, snowboarding, motorcycling or generally enjoying everything nature has to offer.
